This is a digital PDF sewing pattern.

This beanie was designed to be beginner friendly and utilize small scraps of knit fabric, and includes 9 different sizes ranging from newborn baby to adult XXL (fitting head circumferences between 14”-25”).

Sweatshirt or sweater knit fabric is best (fleece, French terry, or rib knit), and I encourage you to utilize what you already have if you can & repurpose old clothing that’s worn out as much as possible before purchasing new!

You don’t need a serger! This hat is lined so you won’t see the raw edges because they will be enclosed inside of the reversible hat. I use a regular straight stitch rather than a zigzag for this project because I want my seams to be stable so they give the beanie structure.

This pattern uses ¼” seam allowances to conserve fabric and reduce bulk.

The pattern and instructions are included in one PDF.

Pages A & B of the PDF file are formatted for printing the pattern at home (scaled to 7.5x10” (19.05 x 25.4 cm) to allow for a margin that works for both US letter size and A4 (5 pages). When printing your pattern, make sure that you set the print scale to 100%, and make sure “scale to fit” is not selected. Measure the test square to make sure the scale is correct. Tape the pieces together so that the pattern piece lines match up. Once your pattern is taped, select your size from the size chart included in the instructions, and carefully cut out your size.

Instructions are illustrated on pages 1 & 2 of the PDF with a supplemental video tutorial: https://youtu.be/v78wn9hTPPs
